The faculty building was constructed in 1982 according to the designs of Draginja Lazić and Ljuba Stanković within the complex of the Faculties of Technical Sciences. It occupies the space between the first Technical School of Niš, and the complex of the Gradsko polje (or the town commons), and the military complex and Concentration Camp “Crveni krst”.
The faculty building, apart from its teaching units, also has centers for scientific research activities, innovation activities, continuous education, quality control, a computer-information center and laboratories, but also has commercial functions (the faculty club, shops, post office and copy shops).
The building belongs to the International Style of architecture and it was fully complies with the original design, without any subsequent interventions. It consists of natural concrete, profiled concrete slabs and glass, which is visible on all the façade s of the building. Its structure consists of cubic forms, which fully correspond with the functional organization of the interior. The teaching activity carried out on the premises is organized on the ground level, mezzanine and the upper floor, all of which have a free form, while the research centers and laboratories are organized in the prismatic volume of the ground level and five floors, with cubic concrete projections and an open fire staircase in the back. The interior features are mad of white marble, aluminum, wood, glass, cast terrazzo. The building has several entrances and vertical communication.
