The villa is one of the buildings created in the period when construction in Niška Banja (or spa) mostly favored residential buildings, in order to develop spa tourism. It was built in 1937. Along with the construction of a large number of already built residential villas, its construction was financed by the Niš industrialist D. Ristić, the owner of a textile factory in Niš. The architect is unknown.
The building is dominated by the overstressed semicircular forms of the terrace and the concrete slab above it on the corner of the building, and the sequence of large window openings on the ground level, which creates a floating illusion of the aforementioned forms. This villa was built in the spirit of the Moderne, which was at the time employed and explored by the Niš architects. In Niška Banja, there is another Ristić villa built in the spirit of academism. For some time, the building served as a facility meant for children – a nursery school – and now it has reverted to its original, residential function.
