Стационар „Терме“

The in-patient clinic located in the western part of Niška Banja (or spa) was built in 1981 through the merging, adaptation and extension of the existing villas, which unfortunately lost their former qualities of residential buildings of the 1930’s.

The town-planning design, called “The four villas of Niška Banja” was made in 1979 by the Niš architect Mihailo Medvedev, and it was planned that the in-patient clinic should include: the Villa “Zone” (later “Toplica”), Villa Erna, Villa Čavdarevića and Villa Teokarevića. Only Villa Teokarevića was not included in the project and remains outside the complex. The design based on the integration of several villas into a unique medical institute was carried out by the architects Aleksandar Buđevac, the designer of the complex, and Slobodanka Ferik, Ivan Golubović, Slobodan Vučković and Mirjana Daković, who had individual assignments on the buildings.

The integrated buildings are connected with glazed footbridges and they contain a therapy block, with an accommodation capacity of 102 beds, a restaurant, café-bar and TV hall. The in-patient complex was arranged as a luxury park with cascading promenade serpentines, fountains and lush vegetation, according to the designs of the Belgrade architect Ljiljana Babić.
