This building was erected in 1932 for the Niš merchant Milan Ž. Stojiljković and his family, the members of a famous family of merchants and industrialists.
The building was designed by the Belgrade architect Aleksandar Sekulić.
In architectonic terms, the building was designed in the spirit of Neo-classicism, so the main street front features pilasters with bases and capitals, a pronounced architrave, parapet, window and roof cornices, a decorated attic and window frames.
The interior space also draws attention. The living room was once on the ground level, with a central hall from which the wooden semi-circular staircase which led to a more intimate, family room on the upper floor. On the wall above the staircase there is a stained glass window which brings warmth into the interior and provides daylight illumination in the hall.
The building was adapted for office use after WWII, and housed political organizations. Nowadays it is being used by the public company “Objedinjena naplata” (the local utility company).
